The technical and functional underpinnings of the Med-eMonitor hardware and firmware assure that your device and data will survive even unexpected trials and tribulations. Med-eMonitor utilizes non-volatile Flash memory so that in the unlikely event of a loss of battery power, the data on the device will remain untouched and uncorrupted for its next communication session. The unit transmits and receives data via an internal modem across a standard analog phone line that remains constantly connected to the recharging cradle without affecting incoming or outgoing calls. All communications are automated to eliminate the need for routine patient intervention. While patients are urged to return the Med-eMonitor to its cradle every night, the device can run on battery power for as much as 30 days if left inadvertently at the office or taken on a cruise or camping trip.
