WRT's Framework for Development Plan provided a thorough analysis and strategy for improving the School
of Medicine campus, while retaining flexibility regarding phasing. A component of the plan called for the relocation
and restoration of a historic building, Halissee Hall, originally the residence of Miami's first mayora project that
we then helped design as landscape architects. The project includes a new formal entry sequence to the institution
focused on Halissee Hall; proper siting to create an appropriately scaled setting for this important structure; and a
planting design reminiscent of the original landscape.
The Framework for Development Plan won a Merit Award in 1999 from the Association of University Architects.
