WRT's work for this campus spans nearly a decade. It began with a landscape master plan that envisioned
transforming what were then city streets into a series of linked pedestrian malls and plazas that extend
the ambiance of the original campus. That project has transformed the campus, providing important open
space for one of the densest urban campuses in the Cal State system. WRT has since completed another
master plan to guide an ambitious program of campus development. As the official campus landscape
architect, WRT has a variety of ongoing assignments, including site design for the new 5,700-bed
student and faculty housing village and the urban design plan for the new joint-use library,
funded by both the university and city.
San Carlos, 7th and 9th Street Plazas won a merit award from ASLA's California Chapter.
