WRT's master plan and site design for this natural heritage center explore both environmental and cultural aspects
of the region. Located at the confluence of the Trinity River and Clear Creek, this environmentally sensitive site
is characterized by old-growth bottomland hardwoods, forest and wetland restoration areas, wildlife management areas,
a small area of cross timbers, and a Texas Parks and Wildlife Greenbelt. The master plan addresses site programming,
circulation, site zoning, and resource management for the 2,700 acres, with the nature center planned for 40 acres of
the site's high ground.
