WRT's improvements to the Santa Monica coastline strengthen its environmental health, enhance its urban vitality, and celebrate the city's unique spirit. Designed in collaboration with public artist Jody Pinto, this project involved the landscape, recreation, and infrastructure improvements to interconnectedbut distinctly differentareas that comprise nearly three miles of the waterfront. At one end, Palisades Park is a quiet, natural area perched high atop coastal bluffs, and at the other is South Beach, a vibrant, peopled area best known for Muscle Beach and Chess Park. Design moves reinforce the connections between these areas and artfully reveal their distinct personalities.

Winner of Merit and Honor awards, respectively, from ASLA's San Diego Chapter. South Beach was also recognized with an Honor Award from the national ASLA.
