This award-winning master plan takes its cues from the landscape to guide an innovative and distinctive resort complex in
Chiba Prefecture, 50 kilometers from Tokyo. The plan for the 1,700-acre site effectively creates a hilltown composed of hotels,
shops, restaurants, an outdoor market place, an auditorium and outdoor amphitheater, conference facilities, indoor and outdoor
recreation facilities, and a health center and spa. Buildings are envisioned as integral to the site's landscape to minimize
environmental impacts and maximize the experience of its natural beauty.
Winner of a Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architecture.
