WRT planned and designed three parks for this suburban community.
J. Graham Brown Park interprets the form and spirit of the existing landscape, creating a place that prompts inquiry,
delight, and memories. Inspired by the interactions of land and water, the design interprets the site's history while
adding visual interest.
For Community Center Park, WRT explored the idea of "play"—as it relates to sports and to nature—and
transforms the commonplace into the unexpected. The result is a more functional park with a distinct and delightful identity.
Bear Grass Creek Preserve, a 12-acre park bisected by a tributary of the Ohio River, serves as a buffer between
residential neighborhoods and the region's largest shopping mall. Here, design was driven by the need to improve environmental conditions,
including accommodation of heightened storm water detention demands.
Community Center Park won a merit award in 2002 from the ASLA.
