The conviction that quality of life is directly related to the health and sustainability of cities and regions is the underlying principle of WRT's planning and design practice. Many indicators provide the basis for understanding the conditions—economic, environmental, social, functional, and aesthetic—that contribute to the quality of life in a community. At scales ranging from regional growth management plans to site-specific urban revitalization assignments, WRT's work aims to guide community growth toward sustainability in urban, suburban, and rural settings.
