Coyote Valley includes 6,800 acres of primarily agricultural lands along
Highway 101 between the cities of San Jose and Morgan Hill. San Jose is
planning for a minimum of 50,000 campus industrial jobs and 25,000
residential units for the Valley, and a portion of the area already
includes entitlement for a controversial industrial campus development by
Cisco Systems. WRT is preparing a Smart Growth alternative vision that
will balance environmental, social equity, and economic objectives, and
present a more efficient and responsible use of the land. The vision is
being prepared on behalf of the Greenbelt Alliance, which was awarded a
Packard Foundation grant as part of its Conserving California Landscapes
initiative. |
