WRT's work for DART brings a civic dimension to several new transit stations, providing pedestrian plazas that add public amenity and spur adjacent private development. New plazas for the Victory and Elm/Lamar Stations introduce public art, landscape, and urban design features to create unique places for both rest and passage. Specific design elements for these plazas respond to the particulars of their settingsone in the central downtown, the other in a more residential neighborhood. Unity Plaza, another new station designed by WRT, goes even further by creating a new hub for civic activity in an emerging urban neighborhood located strategically at the link between light rail and bus transit.
