WRT's involvement with New Jersey Transit includes a range of assignments—from master planned and built places to reports
and guidelines that shape designs by others. WRT designed Exchange Place, an intermodal transit hub in Jersey City that
connects the north-south busway, east-west commuter buses, and PATH (the Port Authority operated subway into Manhattan)
and also provides pedestrian links to nearby open space, such as the
Hudson River Walkway. We have prepared
dozens of station area plans that include both land use elements to guide commercial and residential development around
new stations. WRTs urban design guideline handbook for the entire light rail system promotes harmony among stations
designed by multiple architects, and it was recognized with a design award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
