WRT's work is transforming this former working waterfront from a sleepy relic into a vital part of the surrounding city. Working with the redevelopment agency and a master developer, WRT created a plan and design guidelines to forge new development patterns and strengthen the character of the public realm with the aim of reestablishing synergy between the waterfront and downtown commercial areas. The plan puts forth a dynamic open space strategy and proposes a signature civic space to attract residents and visitors. WRT engaged a public artist and experts in signage, lighting, events programming, and accessibility to create this design concept and development framework that will set the stage for the city's resurgence.
